Queensgate Gardens could not be more centrally located for the families of Tri-Cities, WA! It is right off of the Queensgate exit providing quick access via I-182 from any direction. If you are dreading the long drive to a farm to buy a few pumpkins, look no further. No need for enduring crying babies in the car, packing snacks/meals, or making sure everyone has used the restroom before you leave. No need to even use an outhouse, there is a fully plumbed bathroom inside the greenhouse. Brian Keele, the owner of Queensgate Gardens, has brought the farm and all the lovely little pumpkins to you. All types of pumpkins. For a fun family activity try to identify the different varieties of pumpkins that you find along Queensgate's pumpkin walk. Print off a list of different varieties with a corresponding photo. There are so many lists to choose from online.
Queensgate has beautiful fall mums and flowers that captivated the attention of my high energy children, and even a variety of produce still fresh off the vine, including fruit seconds at amazing prices. My children and I visited recently and before we even held a conversation, farmer Brian had invited my little ones on a treasure hunt! He took them under the fence, right out into his on-site grape arbors and let them pick big bunches of golden grapes. Magical! Did I mention that there is no admission/entrance fee of any kind? Queensgate Gardens provides this beautiful experience for free to allow any and all to come. Donations are always welcome.
No need to wait for a turn on a tractor to pick a pumpkin from the patch or for a ride on the prickly straw bales. However, the bales are definitely there! They are arranged into a delightful maze, that is kid friendly, rather than intimidating. It ends with a slide ride and next to a heavy loader excavation area of mulch that will lighten any boy's heart. A bounce house waits inside, sheltered from the wind and rain. Beautiful plants wait to be seen in the greenhouse. Pumpkins and paint wait to be combined into masterpieces. So even if you plan your pumpkin patch adventure on a bad weather day, your family can still have fun without hardly getting out into the elements. But if the sun is out, as it usually is here in the Tri-Cities, be ready also for pumpkin archery, a giant slide, and feeding/catching fish in the fish pond!
Another great perk of this patch is how many fun experiences are packed into a small geographical area, allowing parents to venture without worrying about their children straying far and without the need for bringing along strollers/wagons. Don't wait! Save those gas dollars and visit Queensgate Gardens for your fall experience today!
