Support Vibe Music and Performing Arts Center and The Arc Special Olympics at the same time

By Faith Spencer November 2, 2023

Who's got a golden ticket? Oompa Loompa Doomp-a-di-doo..., it could be your family and you!

The Vibe Music and Performing Arts Center is presenting Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka in musical form this November 3-5, and 10-11. And they have donated some tickets to Macaroni Kid to donate to the families of the community.

Here is what you can do to enter:

Get crafting for a candy drive - but not the type of candy drive you are thinking!

In this project we're looking for Craft Candy! Kraft candy - like Kraft Macaroni cheese... Macaroni Kid? ...No. Here is what is really needed:

  • Paperplate peppermints
  • Lollipops
  • Candy Canes
  • Stars
  • Snowflakes
  • Paper Sprinkles
  • Anything Candyland and Wonka related!

Here is a link to several printable Candy Templates . Decorations should be the size of an 8x11 piece of paper or bigger for stage display and ease of decorating.

Then, share photos of your decorations on the Macaroni Kid facebook page https://www.facebook.com/mackidkennewick  or email the photos to me at faiths@macaronikid.com so that I can enter your name in the drawing for the tickets to Willy Wonka!

Why?

Vibe MPAC is a non-profit organization. They are in need of stage decorations that look like candies and sweets! Do you know what other organization is also searching for the same thing? The ARC of the Tri-Cities, a local agency whose purpose is to create opportunities for people with developmental disabilities to participate in society to their greatest potential. They are hosting the Special Olympics of WA and over 900 athletes on Nov 17-19th. The Olympics are candy-land themed! So in crafting your candy, you will be supporting the non profit Vibe PMAC Willy Wonka Musical, as well as the Arc of the Tri-Cities Special Olympics.

Executive Director of Vibe MPAC, Megan, a music teacher of over 30 years, feels strongly about giving back to the community. They involve 250+ families and put on 3-4 shows per year. If you are interested in further supporting their non-profit, they are hosting a Winter Showcase fundraiser on December 8th and 9th. For more info: https://www.vibempac.org/shows
