Yes, she adds sparkles to hair, but she really shares sparkles everywhere. Bonnie Brown, a sweet grandma, that worked for the local postal service for over 30 years, now fills her time helping women sparkle inside and out.
What is a sparkle, you may ask?
These are strands of silken tinsel-like material that are attached at the root of a strand of hair to add shimmers of a selected or various colors. These reflect light and truly make it look as if one's hair sparkles! The shimmers will remain in hair until the hair falls out or is removed at the root.
My daughter and I recently visited Bonnie in her cozy home to be bedazzled together for some quality mother-daughter time. She welcomed us in with warmth, calling us by name and helping us feel comfortable in a new place. For my 5 year old daughter she grabbed coloring books and jumbo crayons. Bonnie even gifted her some balloons to play with! As we selected colors, she was very reassuring and talked with us about our interests. She was ever so patient with my girl, though my daughter didn't seem to struggle sitting still during the hair treatment because of how excited she was!
The best part was when she walked us back to her restroom together where she had two mirrors facing each other so that we could see our sparkles. Bonnie told my daughter - You Sparkle! Now every time you see the sparkles in your hair you can remember to be grateful for your blessings and to share your sparkle with others by being kind.
My daughter took that tender message to heart and now we regularly reflect on how she has sparkled in a day when we catch a glimpse of the shimmer in our hair!
