Celebrate National Library Week at Our Amazing Tri-Cities' Libraries

What to Know About the SEVEN Libraries Within 25 Minutes of Driving - plus Little Free Libraries!

By Faith Spencer April 8, 2024

April 7-13 is National Library Week. If you haven't visited a local library yet, you are missing out! Libraries are an abundant source of information about the community, and a great way to connect with others that live here locally, plus a free resource for endless hours of entertainment for your littles in the form of books, movies, games, story times, shows, indoor play space, summer programs, downloads ... you name it!

Here are a few fun things to know about the closest 7 libraries in the Tri-Cities Region.

Richland:

  • Did you know that you can check out board games?? My family and I love to check out a game every once in a while for a fun family night or even for my husband and I to have a low key, free date night. This is also a great way to find games that your family enjoys without spending the big bucks every time! This is a popular resource, so be sure to get online and place a hold to ensure you can get a favorite. But, don't worry that you won't get one - they have lots! One can be checked out at a time.
  • Tumbleweed Tourist: Reserve this pass for you and your family and get in FREE to a long list of local attractions: including the local George Prout Pool, the Reach Museum, the CBC planetarium, and more! All you need is a library card!
    • This also can get you a FREE day pass to hundreds of state parks and nature areas!
  • This library has many storytimes and STEAM activities, plus a play area where children can play without having to be extremely quiet. This area has a train table, blocks, puzzles, and interactive wall toys.

West Richland:

  •  This is a smaller branch, but still has a nice open area for children to play. Plus, you can see your child from pretty much every angle in the library - you don't have to worry about losing them here! The Thursday morning storytime with Ms. Dawn is very fun popular and includes a fun craft with it.
  • Stickers are available at the front for kids and they have fun activities like Lego Club

West Pasco

  • Free printing! Up to 5 pages per day! Homeschool curriculum/preschool activities/free email downloads... no ink at home, no problem.
